This walk is on good management tracks, some of which are through regeneration after the March fires. Starting from Dyers Crk picnic ground, the walk goes through messmate and mountain ash forest, with many tree ferns in places along the way. There are good views in places if clear. There is a moderate uphill towards Burgess Rd on Helmet trk. After lunch, there is steep ascent after the beginning of the Nash Crk loop, followed by 2 steep downhill sections along a rutted 4WD track.
